What we collect (and what we don't)

You can search and browse Worship Engine without signing in — we don't ask for a name, email, or any personal profile. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers. The limited data we do handle is described below.

Privacy-friendly analytics

When enabled, we use Plausible Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-focused service, to understand aggregate usage — for example how many searches are run and which features are used. These measurements record the shape of activity (such as whether a search returned results, the language chosen, or that a song was viewed) but never your raw search text. Plausible does not set cookies and does not collect personal data.

Storage in your own browser

To make the site faster and more convenient, we store a small amount of data locally in your browser. This stays on your device — it is not a cookie and is not sent to us:

• Recent searches — your last few searches are remembered so you can re-run them quickly. They live only in your browser and you can clear them at any time.
• Temporary caches — song and catalog data are briefly cached for the current tab so pages load faster.

You can remove all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for worshipengine.ca.

How your searches are handled

When you run a search, your query is sent to our own servers to return results (and, for questions, an AI-generated answer). We may keep a private, aggregate log of search terms to improve results — this log contains no personal or identifying information and is used only to make search better.

YouTube videos

Song pages can play the original YouTube video. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and no video player loads until you click play — so YouTube only begins its own tracking once you choose to watch. Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube. Playing a video is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We may update this notice from time to time as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above.
